I’m always short of luck when it comes to weather during my flights. I take off and land with heavy clouds almost all the time.
Perhaps this is the price I have to pay for my frequent flights. But it doesn’t matter; I’ve got used to it, and just sleep the whole flight long.
This time was no exception: as soon as we took off for Istanbul, the view out of the window was blurred with mist.
That’s why I fastened my son, turn on the screen to show him some cartoons and fell asleep.
What can a child do on-board while his father is asleep? Get to passengers? Make stewardesses cry? It’s all highly possible.
But when I woke up in the middle of the flight, I noticed that my son was absorbed by shooting with my camera he had appropriated.
I was both interested and amused. What will he do next? Actually, Misha took this camera for the first time.
It’s Fujifilm X-E2 with 35mm lens. I took it to my trip to Armenia and almost all pictures for my travel notes were made with it.
We were approaching Istanbul, when a splendid view became visible through the clouds.
One would expect a child to enjoy the view. But not my son. Misha was taking pictures through the window with great enthusiasm.
The clouds were beautiful. With deep cavities and dramatic peaks.
I was fascinated with the view and was trying to grasp all beautiful details.
And there was no need in taking pictures, when a young photographer was sitting next to me.
So I decided to have a rest and entrust him the whole process. It was more like an experiment. I wondered what would come out of this.
Our captain made several circles around Istanbul, allowing us to enjoy the splendid view even more.
After arrival, I downloaded photos to my telephone via Wi-Fi, and now I’m writing this post and eating tasty Turkish baklava.
It’s somehow strange to illustrate the post on my blog by photos that were taken by someone else. But I think, my son won’t be upset.
And I’ve got several days to enjoy one of my most favourite cities ahead!
See you in Istanbul.
